Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using RingTally ("Service"), operated by RingTally ("we", "us", or "our") at ringtally.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

RingTally is a wedding budget planning application that helps couples track spending, manage categories and expenses, and coordinate finances. The Service is offered on two tiers:

  • Free — limited categories and line items, single user.
  • Pro — unlimited categories, charts, exports, smart alerts, partner collaboration, multi-payer tracking, and payment schedules.

3. Accounts

Registration

You must provide a valid email address and accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use RingTally. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Account security

Notify us immediately at support@ringtally.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payment

Billing

The Pro plan is billed on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method through Stripe on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Settings → Billing. Your access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods unless required by applicable law.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

Free tier

The Free tier is provided at no charge and may have feature limitations. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Free tier with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or interact with the Service.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any content that could harm the Service or other users.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
  • Use the Service to store or transmit illegal content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

6. Your Data

Ownership

You retain ownership of all budget data, content, and information you input into RingTally ("Your Data"). We do not claim any ownership rights to Your Data.

License to us

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Data solely to provide the Service to you.

Export and deletion

Pro subscribers can export their data as CSV or PDF at any time from Settings → Export. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account.

Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

7. Partner Collaboration

Pro subscribers may invite a partner to access their budget. By sending an invitation, you confirm you have the partner's consent to share budget information with them via RingTally. Partners have full read and write access to the shared budget. You are responsible for managing partner access and may remove it by contacting support.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, trademarks, and content (excluding Your Data), is owned by RingTally and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), Google (OAuth sign-in), and Resend (email delivery). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

10. Service Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications at any time. We are not liable for any losses resulting from downtime or service interruptions.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE SECURE, FREE OF ERRORS, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

RingTally is a budgeting tool only. We are not financial advisors and nothing in the Service constitutes financial advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RINGTALLY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RingTally and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
